Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones talks about We The People Fest

It is with great sorrow and regret that we report Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones has passed away.  This tragedy will be felt throughout the community on many different levels.  She has touched so many lives and we will always be thankful for the time that she spent on this Earth, although it seems it was not long enough.  Her passion for helping people was inspirational and serves as a model to others in helping to make this world a better place.  The impact of Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones will never be forgotten as her actions and accomplishments have affected us in positive ways in our daily activities.  As we recognize all of the beauty around us, we will remember the light that Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones shined upon us.

We The People Fest is a non-partisan political social convention.

This multi-day festival is designed to engage youth by creating excitement about the election process through using various media forms focused on education, awareness, and entertainment.

We The People Fest will incorporate films, guest speakers, and music with representation on a local, regional, and national level.

It will be a celebration of democracy that will provide young adults an opportunity to register to vote and empower themselves with knowledge about the election process.

We The People Fest will be held from September 26th – 28th, 2008 in the newly renovated Oscar Ritchie Building at Kent State University.

The Center of Pan-African Culture is a co-host of the event. Students will be involved in the process by working side by side with the organizers as they assist in coordinating and promoting the event. It is anticipated that the combined event will attract thousands of attendees including both students and public participation. In addition, event highlights will be edited into video shorts and distributed worldwide.

We The People Fest has many great events scheduled.  Also, attendees can visit our Interactive Room.  This room provides a great opportunity to network and learn about ways to get involved.  There is no admission fee to the Interactive Room.  Hours for the Interactive Room are as follows:
